“The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves..

— Steven Spielberg

We focus on one-to-one support and group sessions, utilising a varied learning approach to introduce different environments and encourage broader development.

Safeguarding is our priority. All MM Mentoring staff are rigorously trained in First Aid, Safeguarding, Positive Behavioural Support, and Trauma-Informed Care, with regular supervision from a qualified therapist.

Our Approach

  • Our mentors use trauma-informed care and Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) to build trusted relationships, helping young people make positive choices and develop coping mechanisms.

  • Direct academic support makes all the difference. We provide comprehensive, tailored tuition up to GCSE level and are a proud approved centre for the AQA Unit Award Scheme to offer flexible, accredited learning.

  • From farm visits to sessions with our resident Therapy Dog, Nelly, we use animal therapy to decrease anxiety, increase social support, and provide motivation for young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

  • The Future of Alternative Provision. MM Mentoring is proud to be the only alternative learning provider in the UK partnered with ClassVR. We use breathtaking, curriculum-aligned virtual reality to safely re-engage reluctant learners and bring education to life.

Our Dedicated Learning Hub

Based in Charfield, Gloucestershire, our dedicated Learning Hub is a dynamic indoor workspace equipped with education supplies, games, and a pool table, alongside access to local outdoor sports facilities.

Depending on a young person's needs, we also provide support in schools, the local community, family homes, or care settings.

  • "We've seen such a huge improvement in his behaviour, and much of this is down to his mentoring sessions. We used to get calls from school most days, but now he's getting into way less trouble. His mentor has clearly given him some great advice, and it's really helped him. We've certainly seen a change in how he handles himself, both at school and when he's home."

    — Parent of Mentee

  • “Makes my child happy every morning as he looks forward to his session”
